Co-op Live Arena

Co-op Live in Manchester is the UK’s largest indoor arena, holding 23,500 people across the largest floor space of any indoor venue in the country. Designed by Populous with Buro Happold as structural engineer, the arena is built as four separate structurally-independent quadrants, with stability provided by seven precast concrete cores working alongside strategically placed bracing.

The four quadrants are separated by movement joints by design, allowing each quarter of the steel-framed bowl to move independently under thermal, seismic and load conditions. Built by BAM Construction for Oak View Group, the arena opened in May 2024.
