Introducing the AquaFlex 1600-A01-A02
Vexcolt has added a new joint to its waterproofing range: the AquaFlex 1600-A01-A02, an EPDM expansion joint purpose-built for locations where movement control and water resistance both matter.
Unlike standard movement joints, the AquaFlex 1600 series is designed around a special coated non-woven material. This gives it excellent extension in the cross direction while remaining rigid lengthwise, so the joint holds its shape under load but flexes exactly where it needs to. A dedicated flexible zone runs through the centre of the material, allowing the product to absorb high movement without compromising the watertight seal.
Two configurations are available at launch. The A01 variant covers floor-to-floor transitions, while the A02 variant is built for floor-to-wall junctions. Both share the same core specification: a 0–100 mm gap width, ±50% movement capacity (100% total), and a 1.5 mm material thickness across a 220 mm material width. Each is tested to EN1928(B) for watertightness, giving specifiers a documented performance standard to build into their movement joint schedules.
Because installation environments vary, the AquaFlex 1600 is also available pre-assembled from the factory, cutting down on-site labour and reducing the risk of installation error in wet or below-grade areas.
