TransAtec Series

Mechanical expansion joints for podiums, parking decks, elevated roadways & other structures subject to vehicle loads

What this page covers

TransAtec mechanical expansion joints are Vexcolt’s range built for structures that carry heavy vehicle loads. Unlike a standard pedestrian joint, TransAtec uses a continuous aluminium frame with interlinking central frames and a stainless steel wearing surface instead of a simple seal. As a result, the system can take repeated vehicle traffic across podiums, parking decks, and elevated roadways without breaking down. In addition, a fully bonded waterproofing membrane runs beneath the frame, cross-linked to a secondary waterproofing layer, so water is kept out even under constant loading. Meanwhile, stainless steel self-tapping screws anchor the frame securely into the concrete slab. For projects that also need a seismic joint elsewhere in the structure, our SeismAtec overview covers that separately.

How to use this page

If your project involves podiums, parking decks, or elevated roadways carrying vehicle traffic, TransAtec is the right starting point. Below, each product links to its own page, where you’ll find full specifications and downloadable technical files. First, check the gap width and load rating your structure requires. Then, select the TransAtec profile that matches those requirements. For applications where movement comes from building sway or thermal expansion rather than vehicle loads, take a look at our FlexAtec overview instead, or browse our full product range to compare all available systems. If you’re unsure which joint suits your project, get in touch with our team.
