Introducing the FireFlex 2300 and 2700 Series
Vexcolt has expanded its FireFlex line-up with four new fire-rated expansion joints: the FireFlex 2300-A01-A02, FireFlex 2300-A07-A09, FireFlex 2700-A01-A02, and FireFlex 2700-A07-A09. Together they cover floor, wall, and ceiling fire barrier applications, giving specifiers more options for controlling movement across compartment lines without compromising fire integrity.
All four products are built from high-temperature refractory ceramic fibre with a stainless steel foil sheath, and are tested to ASTM E-1399 for movement performance, covering both thermal (Class I) and wind-load (Class II) conditions. Each variant carries a UL 2079 fire rating of up to 120 minutes of integrity, with the underlying construction supporting both 2-hour and 4-hour rated configurations depending on gap width and joint location.
FireFlex 2300 series (A01-A02 for floor-floor and floor-wall joints, A07-A09 for wall-wall and ceiling-ceiling joints) is designed for larger movement joints, with gap widths from 25 mm up to 500 mm. Sightline and blockout dimensions scale with gap width, and each configuration has its own product number for straightforward specification.
FireFlex 2700 series (also split into A01-A02 for floor joints and A07-A09 for wall and ceiling joints) targets smaller gap widths, from 10 mm up to 120 mm, with both 2-hour and 4-hour fire integrity ratings available across the full gap range. This makes the 2700 series well suited to tighter movement joints in fire-compartmented walls, floors, and ceilings where a full-size joint isn’t required.
Both series ship with technical data sheets, and DWG or NBS specification requests can be made directly from each product page. As with the rest of the FireFlex range, the ceramic fibre infill and stainless steel foil sheath combination is designed to maintain fire compartmentation while still accommodating the structural movement the joint needs to absorb.
These new products sit alongside the existing FireFlex Overview range, extending the options available for projects requiring fire-rated movement joints across floors, walls, and ceilings in a single family of compatible products.
